Latinas and gangs in Chicago

April is a 13 year old Latina who is struggling to keep out of the gang life in her neighborhood. She is a former member of the female chapter of the gang Latin Kings. Her brother was assassinated and she swore to take revenge, that is why she joined Latin Kings. April's counselor, Araceli Hurtado has been her model and the reason why she got out of the gang.
